The Board of Trustees and Staff of the Akron Woman’s City Club would like to thank you for allowing us to host your special event! We welcome the opportunity to serve you and your guests as you enjoy the uniquely warm ambience of our fine club.
Dress Code – Akron Woman’s City Club’s policy regarding attire states that business casual attire is acceptable. That includes collared shirts (ties optional), pants, slacks, jackets, blouses, skirts, and dresses. Inappropriate attire for both men and women include tank tops, shorts, and sweat suits.
Contract – All functions are required to have a member of The Akron Woman’s City Club as a sponsor. Nonmembers and the sponsoring member of an event or group are required to sign a Contract /Event Agreement prior to the event scheduled.
Room Deposits - A Deposit and Room Charge is required in order to secure your selected date for your event. This Deposit will be applied to your final bill. No deposit or room charge is required for members, member families or member outside groups.
Cancellation Policy - Should your event be cancelled, the following policy applies to the Deposit: Excluding Weddings, deposits are non-refundable.
· Six (6) months prior to the event – Full Refund
· Three (3) months prior to the event – One-half Refund
· After three (3) months prior to the event – No Refund
The Room Charge is Non-refundable.
Pricing & Billing - In addition to your food and beverage charges, a 20% Service Charge and the current Ohio Sales Tax will be applied to your bill. If your group is tax exempt, a certificate of exemption must be on file before the scheduled day of your event.
Tasting – Any requested food tasting is scheduled at the discretion of the Chef. Tasting is limited to salad and entrée selections only. All banquet food charges apply to tasting and will be added to the final function bill.
Set-up & Linen - There are no fees for Room Set-up or Linens we normally use. Costs for any specialty items will be assumed by you. If you choose to have the club provide items for you, appropriate fees will apply. We ask that all set-up details be submitted no later than fourteen (14) days in advance.
Menu Planning & Guarantee Policy - Your menu must be planned no latter than one (1) month prior to the event. All details and an estimated count are to be provided two (2) weeks prior to the event. Your final count, “guarantee” is required seventy-two (72) hours prior to the event. If you choose to offer more than one entrée to your guests, then you must provide us with a detailed seating chart showing who is being served what along with place cards for your guest identifying their choice. Groups of more than twelve (12) must have a preplanned menu. We will make every attempt to satisfy all special dietary requests.
Alcoholic Beverage & Food Policy - The Akron Woman’s City Club prohibits food, alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages to be brought onto the premises for consumption. Ohio State law forbids liquor to be brought onto the Club premises by members or quests for personal consumtion. Though we do have a full service baking department, we do make arrangements for specialty cakes or cookies to be brought onto the premises with a cutting fee or charge of $1.50 per person. Per the Summit County Department of Health and the State of Ohio, food prepared for consumption at a catered function may not be taken from the Club.
Time Limits – Alcoholic Beverage Service will cease by 12:30 a.m. for all private events. All guests must leave the premises by 1:00 a.m. Our liquor license prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages on Sunday’s.
Decoration Policy – Outside sources must contact us to arrange times for decorating. Tape, tacks, nails or any other like means are prohibited from being applied to any surface of the room (s) for decorations. Outside parties may use the Club’s current centerpieces if applicable.
Entertainment – We require all enteratainment to be set up one (1) hour prior to an event and no later then 4:30 p.m. for an evening function. The rules and regulations of the club, including and not limited to the dress code, apply to all entertainment hired for a function and they will be considered quests at the event.
Equipment – We have a limited supply of equipment for meetings that we will provide at a low or no cost. In the event that you would need additional equipment we can provide it at standard rental rates plus a minimal service charge.
